with careful selection of materials and features such as all wood binding and thoughtful, ergonomic design.
Dr. Dave Cohen built his first mandolin in 1974. His lifelong interest in science, woodworking, and stringed instruments come together in these fine
instruments. His study of the acoustical properties of mandolins have resulted in the first papers ever published on the subject.
A sampling of CMI's mandolins have been described as "cannons", "striking sounding", "beautiful to eye and ear" and
"amazing" by some of bluegrass's best.
